NAPHS Annual Survey
Each year, NAPHS surveys its membership to track trends in behavioral
health care. The NAPHS Annual Survey reports on how the psychiatric
health delivery system is changing and tracks key trends in the
development of various levels of care (including inpatient, partial
hospitalization, residential treatment, and outpatient care). Among
key indicators reported in the survey are: admissions and days of
care, lengths of stay, payer trends (including the role of Medicare
and Medicaid), and expenses. The survey is an important reference
used throughout the year by clinicians, administrators, financial
analysts, media, healthcare consultants, federal agencies, and researchers.
Survey Price: $400 for nonmembers.
One copy free to each participating NAPHS-member organization or $300
each for additional member copies (no further discount). Item

NAPHS training on Medicare's transition to an inpatient psychiatric prospective payment system
With publication of the November 15, 2004, final rule, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid has implemented a prospective payment system for inpatient psychiatric services. To help the field implement these regulations, NAPHS has offered a wide variety of training opportunities (including conferences and telephone trainings) for CEOs, physicians, coders, and others. Check the NAPHS Web site frequently for the latest offerings on the IPPPS.
